Cutteslowe Park Community Woodland

LCON has an informal partnership with the Friends of Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park, who are working to improve the woodland area in Cutteslowe Park where LCON’s trees were planted in November 2011. The group aims:

  • To perpetuate the woodland with mixed tree species and associated habitats while encouraging the biodiversity of the site.
  • To provide a informal amenity for local residents and visitors and encourage public awareness of the natural environment and diverse habitats within the area.
  • To continue with a tree planting programme to achieve a diverse woodland structure in the area and improve the environment by establishing woodland to filter out pollutants from the air.
  • To maintain a balance between natural open spaces and woodland by careful management
  • To set up recording systems to monitor the regeneration of flora and fauna at the site
  • To provide firewood from coppicing for local use

This page on the LCON website will be used to provide occasional updates on the group’s work, and information on volunteer activities.
