June 6th saw the launch of the joint project between The Cherwell School and Oxford North Community Renewables (Oncore) to put over 200 solar panels onto the school’s roofs.
Fifty parents and other local people attended the meeting to hear of the plans, which will generate:
- educational benefit to the school
- renewable electricity
- a reduction in carbon emissions
- surpluses for further carbon busting projects
- financial returns estimated at between 3.0% and 4.2% for investors
The meeting heard that around 50 investors would be needed to make the project possible.
