Our nearest windfarm is Westmill Wind Co-op, on the Oxford side of Swindon: at Watchfield SN6 8TH. Westmill has 5 turbines, which can be seen from the road (and the train). The Co-op has set up WeSET (Westmill Sustainable Energy Trust) who organise site visits for schools and interested groups.

There will be experts on site for family visits or small groups on Wednesday 20 April and Saturday 21 May. If you have never stood under a wind turbine, it is definitely something to experience. Better than a 3D film. Why not go and see how noisy they are?
