
Travel is responsible for 24% of the carbon footprint of the average UK citizen and at the recent Low Carbon Oxford North event we heard how getting involved with car clubs is an excellent way to tackle this significant source of emissions.
The evening started with engaging presentations on the latest climate science and on the carbon footprint of car travel in North Oxford.
Cliff Jordan from Common Wheels then spoke about his experience with car clubs and how they not only reduce carbon emissions but also save money and encourage people to use alternative forms of transport for small trips.

After the presentations people stuck coloured dots on a map of North Oxford to show where they lived and how they would like to get involved in supporting car clubs.
