LCON (Low Carbon Oxford North) is taking practical action to combat climate change by helping people in our area to cut their carbon emissions. We aim to make a real difference by bringing people together to work on creating more sustainable lifestyles. Our long term aim is to cut our community carbon dioxide emissions by at least 80 % by 2050, a target set by the UK government.
We are a community association affiliated to the Community Action Group.
FIRST PUBLIC MEETING
We held our first public meeting on THURSDAY 15 JULY which was attended by over 60 people.
As well as meeting the LCON team, we heard from guest speaker Barbara Hammond who spoke about Low Carbon West Oxford’s inspirational plans to cut carbon emissions and even generate their own electricity.
